The box is made of Northern White Pine and the top is made of 3/4" MDO sign plywood and has a dado cut in the bottom so it can't move from side to side

Hive tools are used for prying open hive boxes that the bees have "glued" together. They are also good for scraping frames and moving them in the hive. This J style tool is excellent for freeing stuck frames in the hive. The opposite end is a great scraper for frames and inside corners.
