Castor arrived in 1994 just as fellow Champaign Urbana, IL, bands Hum and Braid broke through and rose to prominence. While Hum and Braid redefined their respective genres, Castor took an experimental approach to slow core indie on their self titled debut and eventually landed on post shoegaze rock with the sophomore
