The Rufous Hummingbird comes to Alaska approximately the last week in March and they are gone again by Aug 1

Needless to say I don't need an alarm clock

and I have wondered for years why they do it

but before the 1960's (ish) they were not available and we had to put up with rubber boots that split out in the cold and got holes in them from sliding on barnacles and the rocks here

I showed it to my husband who by the way was a Merchant Marine for many years. He took one look and said "You cant sell it like that, the buoy has no anchor line, it is going to fall over and drift away." Well you can't argue with that logic so if
