Ace Framed:Unframed Cut-up watercoloursThis larger piece, measuring 14" across, highlights some of my favourite French style calligraphy, found on some wine box packaging. The handcut Ace motif was almost a surprise, as I played with shapes and arrangements from cut up paper. Harlequins and polka dots together with watercolours, bits of typography, and bright, bold shapes and colours that add up to create a vibrant, visual rhythm.
