I stood up from where I was sitting on the log and took a couple last shots when I noticed two moose coming out from the pine forest and into the lake to feed on the vegetation

Just before the entrance at beaver meadows at about 5 am

I was fortunate enough I was heading to this place while it was snowing

I made my way around the north end of the lake and stayed to photograph the two moose for another forty five minutes with Longs peak in the background

STAR LIGHT STAR BRIGHT PAGODA MOUNTAIN I stood up from whereA beautiful morning hiking through Starved Rock State Park. I decided to go off trail to capture the sunlight as it penetrated through to the forest floor and illuminate the autumn colors of maple, oak and hophornbeam trees of this deciduous forest in Northern Illinois. I had to wait about a half hour for the sunlight to shine through this spectacular and majestic scene. It was worth the hike and patience to capture this majestic landscape. (683 3269)
