A handmade Bronze Russian icon of St. Nicholas. 19th Century. Pakistani Byzantine oil lampA Russian icon of St. Nicholas, made out of bronze. (1810 1830) The icon is in excellent condition. Size: 6x5 cm. 2. 5x2 inch. This item comes with a certificate from the Israeli Antiquities Authority. Very little is known about the historical Saint Nicholas. The earliest accounts of his life were written centuries after his death and contain many legendary elaborations. He is said to have been born in the Greek seaport of Patara, Lycia in Asia Minor
