Sloans Lake Colorful Sunrise Building As I navigated the mountains

As I navigated the mountains in Central Colorado

As we descended on an angle it allowed the roads around the ponds to also angle versus their natural north/south and east/west routings

I chose the just photograph portions of the piece with the buildings filling the whole background

As we approached them we had the open oceans waters which provided a backdrop of distance in this image under overcast skies on this afternoon

At first it was a reflection of a mountain in the distance I noticed

Sloans Lake Colorful Sunrise Building As I navigated the mountainsl went to Sloans Lake on a September morning with the goal of capturing the rising sun over the city of Denver. When I arrived the clouds were covering the city. In the matter of a few minutes they started to show the colors of the sun before sunrise which I was able to photograph. The calm winds as well as a long exposure helped add to the picture with the city and colors in the clouds reflecting in the lake.
