Colorado Capitol at Inauguration Size:20"x30" Late in the month we

Late in the month we did get some snow and I headed out to the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver to photograph

As I moved around the building I looked at the different compositions with not only the materials of the building but also how the light hit the building during the course of the day

Using a shallow depth of field I focused on the brick post and let the lines lead to the color in the background

whether it is the modern city or the mix of new and old found in some locations

I walked around the small campus and after photographing some of the buildings decided to get an image of the Main Hall

Colorado Capitol at Inauguration Size:20"x30" Late in the month weThis image was taken when they were setting up the front of the Colorado State Capitol for the inauguration of John Hickenlooper. At the time he was mayor of Denver, and made the walk across Civic Center Park for the inauguration which was the day after this image was taken.
