As I left the house before sunrise

I set up the tripod

I set out on this February morning to enjoy and photograph the fresh blanket of snow that covers this area around wildflower lake with burr oak trees standing tall in the background in Northern Illinois

I was driving when I noticed this huge animal out of the corner of my eye come running from the opposite side of the road right at my SUV

a slow methodical rhythm that brings beauty to the prairie landscape

MYRTLE FALLS MIST As I left the houseMyrtle falls plummets 80 ft. with mount rainier towering at 14,410 ft. in the distance on this early July morning. I wasn't planning on photographing myrtle falls, but the soft lighting was drawing me in as I came upon the falls. I decided to take a couple shots of this remarkable scene before moving further up the trail. (187 385)
