This probably explains why it was assayed in Chester in 1898

winning several awards and exhibiting in the Canadian Pavilion at the 1967 International and Universal Exposition

Somehow it is modern

and the stone has an inner fire that is hard to describe

Early Georgian Stuart Crystal Cufflinks in Case feed-condition-used It has engraved in 'PAIX'These cufflinks are nearly three hundred years old yet, one could be forgiven for thinking they were from the time of disco! In 1649 King Charles I was executed for treason. Stuart crystal jewellery were made to show support and sympathy for the Stuart monarchy and the deceased king. Each crystal is an elegant square with angular corners and red pink foil backing. Jewels were foil backed to capture all the surrounding light by day or candle light.
