I set off from the trailhead with camera gear and tripod in hand on this July summer morning at Wildflower Park

the engelmann prickly pear cactus is a common cactus in the desert southwest

I noticed these windswept patterns across the prairie landscape and thought that they were very interesting with their shapes and textures

A memory that stays with me to this day
