Oval in shape and under glass, here's a handmade (usually by nuns) religious image of the Holy Family Saint Joseph, the Virgin Mary and the Infant Jesus. Now the faces and hands of the image are Antique Victorian die cuts while the clothing of the figures is genuine looks like satin but most likely is silk as it drapes
