I read it as "Caillieu 1818". I am still trying to research it. The date is plain to make out, 1818, and the miniature painting is masterfully accomplished so if you know more about artist, or even this uniform, please do email us. I'm grateful for your help. I've long collected fine French portraits in miniature, and the handsome young officers are always of highest intrigue.
