The fan is a portrait fan, a memento made for someone. Charming subject, and lovely early 1800s fan. Measurements noted in both cm and inches. Small, typical of its time, just 6. 5" long closed. Initially I thought it might be bone, long striated cell structure, but with even closer inspection, I do believe it is ivory*. Just a
