No markings that I can find but the metal has been tested and is 18k gold

I've often wondered if this one might have been a self portrait or family artist portrait

It is beautifully engraved and must surely have been special to "EMD" for whom it was made or gifted. It appears not to have ever been used, so probably something very well treasured.
