4 Rivers Lion Commission this drawing is a studyPiazza Navona is one of the most famous destinations in Rome. At its center, the fountain of the four rivers by Bernini is its main feature. This massive sculpture carved from travertine supporting a giant obelisk creates a presence of its own but tucked away between the figures, other sculptures exist that are often overlooked. This lion is one of those features. To me it represents a familiarity with this sculpture that comes only after seeing it so
