The steel pommel and fittings are a nice dark gray color. The mortise button works as it should. The cap has waffenamts in all the right places. The brown ribbed bakelite grip plates are very good and show just enough wear to know that this piece was carried for a time. The scabbard has lost all of its finish but has toned to a nice dark gray steel color that complements the fittings of
