The whorl includes a sprinkling of real wild spring woodland flowers, and includes a cluster of real Sulphur Tuft fungi (Hypholoma fasciculare). The shaft of this spindle is made from Wild Cherry wood from a storm felled tree that grew on our farm. The shaft was shaped as one with the whorl, resulting in superior balance.
